After seeking to dissuade people from participating in any upcoming planned protest against galamsey in Accra, furious young Ghanaians turned their anger against artist Shatta Wale.
In a tweet on his Twitter account, Shatta Wale urged youth to cease protesting against galamsey and other concerns, as doing so could result in their incarceration.
Wale advised intelligent youth to avoid the demonstrators because they are being exploited by politicians.
"Even the issues in Accra are beyond our power to resolve, and if you fight there, they will find you and lock you up. Be wise, young people from the ghetto, and don't let stupid people mislead you. Learn, ooo, the kids of Ghana.Through devil's agents, they are taking advantage of you," he stated.
Many disgruntled young people responded angrily to his comment, accusing him of being a paid tool or a coward.
One comment said, "Shatta Wale is a coward by nature."
"Will you have the room to tweet nonsense if Kwame Nkrumah did not gain independence for us?" asked another.
