Brymo Claims Superiority Over Burna Boy in Musical Talent

Renowned singer Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, popularly known as Brymo, has stirred controversy by asserting his musical superiority over fellow artist Burna Boy.

Speaking on the Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast hosted by skit maker Bae U Barbie, Brymo responded to Burna Boy's diss freestyle, in which Burna Boy suggested that Brymo had "fallen off."

Dismissing Burna Boy's remarks, Brymo stated, "Is it [the diss freestyle] not Burna Boy lyrics? But he would like to know that nothing in this world would put his name in my song. He no reach my standard."

Asserting his confidence in his vocal abilities, Brymo boldly declared himself as the "finest vocalist" in Africa. He maintained, "I’m probably the finest vocalist on the continent. Better than anybody. I’m not thinking. I know this."

Despite acknowledging the prevalence of criticism, Brymo remained resolute in his assertion, stating that even detractors on Twitter could not deny his talent. He emphasized that winning awards does not necessarily equate to being the best, suggesting that true talent transcends accolades.

This altercation between Brymo and Burna Boy resurfaces previous tension between the two artists. In October last year, Burna Boy delivered a freestyle with his band, during which he addressed Brymo's accusation of song theft. Brymo had accused Burna Boy of sampling the title track of his upcoming album, 'Macabre,' in Burna Boy's songs 'City Boys' and 'I Told Them.'

The exchange between Brymo and Burna Boy underscores the competitive nature of the music industry, where artists often engage in public discourse to defend their artistic integrity and assert their creative prowess.

As Brymo asserts his dominance in the realm of vocal talent, the debate surrounding his claims and Burna Boy's response continues to fuel discussions within the music community. Whether Brymo's assertion of superiority holds merit or not, the clash between these two prominent figures adds another layer of intrigue to the dynamic landscape of Nigerian music.
