Former President Donald Trump won the Nevada Republican Caucus by a wide margin.

Pastor and businessman Ryan Binkley was the only other name on the ballot.

This bodes well for Mr. Trump, as he will be the party nominee for president based on the 26 delegates from Nevada.

Preliminary tallies put the former president's victory at more than 99%.

Shortly after taking the stage at a Las Vegas victory party, Donald Trump stated, "If we win this state, we easily win the election in November."

He is currently the presumed Republican nominee for the general election in November after winning contests in three states: Nevada, Iowa, and New Hampshire.

Even in the unincorporated US Virgin Islands, he was victorious in a Republican caucus.

Despite being the last remaining formidable opponent to Donald Trump, former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley chose to skip the Nevada caucus and instead participate in the state's primary election.

The Republican Party of Nevada and the Democratic-controlled state legislature were at odds; therefore, two separate elections were held in the Silver State.

Nikki Haley lost to "none of these candidates" in the primaries on Tuesday.

However, the outcome was purely symbolic because the Republican party in the state had already resolved that the caucus results would be the only determinant of the presidential candidate.

Approximately 48,400 individuals cast ballots for Mr. Trump, while only 381 cast ballots for his opponent, Ryan Binkley, according to the Associated Press.

Claiming the caucus was "rigged for Trump," Nikki Haley's team declined to participate.

A lot of people were confused and frustrated by what happened in Nevada.

Voters should have had a single ballot, according to the state's Republican governor, who criticized it.

Despite the inevitable outcome of the Nevada caucus, the state is sure to be a battleground in November's presidential election. The outcome will almost certainly be a rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the contenders for president in 2020.

Mr. Trump will face off against Nikki Haley once again in South Carolina, his next stop on the campaign trail.

The Republican base wants an opponent to Donald Trump, she says, adding that "voters want an election, not a coronation." This is despite her vowing to keep fighting, even after suffering three defeats.
