American female rappers have entered the fray of ongoing hip-hop beef, adding a new dimension to the genre's competitive landscape.
Nicki Minaj’s protégé, Bia, recently appeared to take a jab at her mentor’s rival, Cardi B, on the remix of Dreezy’s ‘B*tch Duh.’
In her verse, Bia seemingly mocked an unnamed female artist's inability to stay on beat and further implied that she would never resort to crying on a livestream.
The lyrics sparked speculation among fans that Bia was targeting Cardi B, who famously broke down in tears during an Instagram live session in December 2023, publicly addressing her ex-husband, Offset, for his alleged infidelity.
“How you say you running down and can’t walk on the beat? I ain’t know I had an opp ’cause she don’t say sh*t to me. I could never turn my phone on just to cry, on the live,” Bia raps.
The resurgence of beef culture in hip-hop has been notable in recent times, with Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative album, ‘We Still Don’t Trust You,’ seemingly doubling as a diss project aimed at Drake. The album features guest artists such as Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, and The Weeknd, who all take shots at the Canadian rapper on various tracks.
