Frank Lampard Considered for Canada National Team Head Coach Role

Former Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is among the candidates being considered for the position of head coach of the Canada national team.

Lampard, who has been without a managerial role since last summer following his interim stint with Chelsea, finds himself on the shortlist for the coaching role with the Canadian side. However, it remains uncertain whether Lampard would be inclined towards a job overseas.

Reports from The Telegraph indicate that Canada has identified Lampard as a potential candidate in their search for a manager to lead the team into the 2026 World Cup. The tournament holds significant importance for Canada, as the country will co-host it alongside the USA and Mexico.

Currently, Mauro Biello serves as Canada’s interim head coach, stepping in following the resignation of John Herdman in 2023. Herdman, who held the position from 2018, left to take charge of Toronto FC, leaving Canada in search of a new leader to guide them through the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and beyond.
