"Hearts Struggles this Season Stem from Refereeing Issues" - Alhaji Akambi

Accra Hearts of Oak board member, Alhaji Akambi, expressed criticism towards referees, attributing the team's struggles to poor officiating this season. Despite being halfway through the season, the Phobians face challenges in securing wins, leading to discontent among fans who place blame on board decisions, particularly targeting Alhaji Akambi.

Defending himself, Alhaji Akambi refuted the accusations, stating, "Physically, we have challenges and problems with officiating. Our position shouldn't have been where we are today if not for bad officiating." He emphasized instances where the team supposedly won matches but faced unfavorable referee decisions. Akambi acknowledged submitting complaints to the FA but highlighted that, despite his checks, some referees faced suspension without addressing the root issue.

In an attempt to justify his position, Alhaji Akambi further explained, "We follow the rules and just write to the FA if anything happens. Some of the referees have been suspended per my checks, but that will not solve the problem." His statements reflect a belief in systemic issues affecting the team's performance rather than shortcomings in the board's decision-making.
