I am Against LGBTQ –John Mahama.

Former Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has publicly articulated his stance against the LGBTQ movement, attributing his position to his religious convictions as a member of the Assemblies of God church.

In a recent interview with Joy FM, Mahama emphasized, "By my faith as an Assemblies of God church member, I am against it." This declaration comes amid inquiries about his potential support for legalizing LGBTQ rights if he were to be re-elected.

Mahama, who previously served as Ghana's president from 2010 to 2016, has resurfaced in the political landscape as a contender for the presidency in the upcoming December 2024 elections. Presently aligned with the New Democratic Congress (NDC), he maintains his strong opposition to the LGBTQ movement, echoing the sentiments shaped by his religious faith.

The intersection of religion and politics continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Mahama's perspective on this divisive social issue.
