Journalist Urges Bawumia: Shift Focus from Lectures to Naming Running Mate for 2024 Elections

Broadcast journalist Kwabena Marfo from Peace FM has advised Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to prioritize announcing his running mate over delivering lectures.

Marfo contends that Bawumia, as the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer, needs to enhance visibility, especially in rural areas, rather than relying on speeches.

Expressing his sentiments on Neat FM's Morning Show on February 1, 2024, Marfo highlighted that Bawumia's main opponent, former President John Dramani Mahama, is already well-marketed. He suggested that the Vice President's focus should be on connecting with voters and promoting campaign messages.

"We are fed up with the same trend, incompetent Mahama, economy, GDP and the rest; now the best GDP is in your pocket.

His Excellency, mention your running mate and start your campaign because the time is limited... Select your running mate and start going on tours; there is no more time," Marfo emphasized.

The advice comes in response to Bawumia's upcoming lecture scheduled for February 7, 2024, themed "Ghana’s Next Chapter: Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future.”

The address is expected to focus on leveraging technology, data, and systems for equitable economic growth.

As the 2024 elections draw near, Marfo's call resonates with the urgency of the political landscape, urging Bawumia to shift gears and actively engage with voters by naming his running mate and hitting the campaign trail. The emphasis on personal connection and campaign messages becomes crucial in a limited timeframe where strategic decisions can significantly impact electoral outcomes.
