The American rapper Killer Mike called his arrest during the Grammys "a speed bump" on a night when he won three big rap categories.
He was brought into arrest following a physical confrontation that occurred inside the event venue on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles police department.
Michael Render, 48 years old, was taken into custody after being charged with a misdemeanour battery, according to the police.
He will make his court appearance later this month after being discharged.
"We hit a speed bump and then we head back to the party, man," the rapper said in his first comments since his release, speaking to a radio show in Atlanta.

The rapper allegedly placed the blame for his arrest on "overzealous security" (as reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution).
The rapper from Run the Jewels was reportedly escorted out of the Crypto.com venue in downtown Los Angeles by police officers, according to footage from the scene.
Somebody yelled "free Mike" as he was brought out of the arena, according to witnesses.
Arrest made just before prime-time Grammys started airing.
The controversial political activist and musician won all three of his nominations before the show even started.
The best rap song and best rap performance were bestowed upon his composition "Scientists & Engineers," which included André 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane. ahead of other famous artists like Nicki Minaj and Drake.
Michael, his rap album, also took home a third trophy.
"You cannot tell me that you get too old, you can't tell me it's too late, you can't tell me dream don't come true!" He made the comment while accepting his third Grammy of the evening.

Killer Mike won his first Grammy as a solo artist on Sunday, after winning in 2003 for a song he created with Outkast.
