Kudus Mohammed laments silly mistakes and lack of concentration cost their win in AFCON 2023.

While representing the Black Stars in the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire, Kudus Mohammed has criticized his colleagues, calling out their "silly mistakes" and "lack of concentration" as the reasons why they lost the tournament.

After Monday night's humiliating 2-2 draw with Mozambique in Abidjan, the Black Stars are about to crash out of the tournament in the group stages for the second year in a row. Ghana took an early lead courtesy of two penalty kicks converted by Jordan Ayew.

Unfortunately for the Black Stars, they let in two goals in the latter minutes of the match. The first was a penalty kick for a handball by Andre Ayew in the 91st minute, and the second was a goal from a corner that goalie Richard Ofori bizarrely let in.

Even though Kudus scored twice for the stars against Egypt in their second group game, Inaki Williams and Osman Bukari's individual errors negated his accomplishments. Kudus is from West Ham. The final score was 2-2. Garry Rodrigues scored the winning goal for the Islanders in Ghana's first match against Cape Verde as a result of poor communication between goalkeeper Richard Ofori and defender Mohammed Salisu.

After finishing third in their group with just two points, Ghana is now faced with another elimination from the group stage. During the post-match press conference, Kudus who was an ecstatically named man of the match said that the players had dug their own graves.

The little things matter a lot in games like these. Maintain concentration all game long. Against Egypt, we also let in two goals that were clearly undeserved. In the nick of time before halftime, we simply lost focus.

"We cruised to a victory today. Do not change a thing until the game is over. We made two careless errors and were simply too careless." As he wiped away his tears, he said that the game was too easy.
