Kudus Returns: Boosting Ghana's AFCON 2023 Hopes with Full Team Training Ahead of Egypt Game

Kudus Back in Action!

In light of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations' second group match against Egypt, Henry Asante Twum, the communications director of the Ghana Football Association, has updated the public on Mohammed Kudus' fitness.

As reported by Twum, midfielder Kudus is making encouraging recovery progress despite missing the inaugural match against Cape Verde with a minor injury. Kudus has reportedly been collaborating closely with the physiotherapists and has already joined the rest of the team for full-team training, according to Twum.

Twum is hopeful that Kudus will be fit to play for Egypt by Wednesday or Thursday; however, the medical staff is currently evaluating him.

According to Asante Twum, who spoke on Joy News' PM Express, "Normally what he does is that after the first 15-20 minutes of training, he joins the physios for his personal training outside of the group."

Fortunately, he had practice with the team on Monday. During that time, he did not stray from group training. His evaluation by the medical staff is ongoing." He is back in full team training, and I am sure by Wednesday or Thursday he will be fine for that match.

"Kudus's return would significantly enhance the team's prospects of advancing to the subsequent round, given the must-win circumstances they are in against Egypt."
