Former Ghana winger, Laryea Kingston, has confirmed his readiness to coach the Black Stars when the opportunity is presented to him.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) are currently searching for a new head coach for the senior national team following the dismissal of Chris Hughton with a five-member committee formed to lead the search.

The former Premier League manager was shown the exit following Black Stars' poor outing at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

However, Kingston, who earned 42 caps for the national team and scored six goals, is confident in his ability to manage the national team and guide it back to its glorious days.

According to him, he is qualified to handle the national team and highlighted his experience and understanding of what it took to succeed at the international level.

"I know the level at which I am now," Kingston, who is the current Black Starlets assistant coach stated confidently during an interview with Graphic Sports.

If appointed, Laryea Kingston would join the ranks of former players like Charles Kwablan Akonnor and James Kwasi Appiah, who have previously coached the national team.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) tasked the five-member committee to recommend a coach who has 15 years of coaching experience.

Meanwhile, Maxwell Konadu and Michael Osei have also applied for the vacant coaching role.
