Lionel Messi's Bodyguard Banned from Field Access in CONCACAF Champions Cup Quarter-Final

Source: The Mirror

Yassine Chueko, Lionel Messi’s trusted bodyguard, has been barred from entering the field during the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-final clash between Inter Miami and Monterrey.

The decision, reported by The Mirror, permits Chueko to access the locker room and mixed area despite the ban from the playing field. This sanction stems from an incident following the first leg held in Miami on April 3, where Monterrey secured a crucial 2-1 away victory, gaining an advantage in the semi-final race.

The altercation unfolded after the match, with Lionel Messi, sidelined due to injury, embroiled in a confrontation with Monterrey's manager, Fernando Ortiz, and assistant coach Nico Sanchez.

Ortiz's pre-game comments insinuating biased officiating in favor of Miami sparked the heated exchange. According to The Mirror, Sanchez directed derogatory remarks at Messi, labeling him a "possessed dwarf with the face of the devil."

It appears that Messi's bodyguard, responsible for the security of the football icon and his family, was involved in the altercation, resulting in the ban from accessing the playing field.

Despite the off-field drama, Messi is poised to lead Inter Miami in the crucial rematch against Monterrey, where victory is imperative for advancement.
