Nigerian music sensation, Tekno, popularly known as Kelechi Austin Miles, has refuted claims suggesting that he received royalties amounting to N1 billion from his collaborative song with fellow artist Kizz Daniel, titled 'Buga'. In a recent development, Tekno debunked reports circulated by a blog, Budget TV, which alleged that he disclosed receiving substantial royalties from Kizz Daniel for their joint track.

According to Budget TV's purported interview with Tekno, the singer claimed that Kizz Daniel regularly sent him 50 percent of the revenue generated by 'Buga' and that he had received close to a billion Naira in royalties. The blog quoted Tekno as expressing gratitude for Kizz Daniel's generosity and highlighting the financial benefits he had gained from their collaboration.

However, Tekno took to his social media platform, X, to dismiss the interview as "fake" and vehemently denied the allegations. In a straightforward response, he declared, "Him money no reach. Anybody wey put out that fake interview, thunder fire your mama. #Talkingshit."

The swift denial from Tekno underscores the importance of clarifying misinformation in the age of social media and digital journalism. With the proliferation of online platforms, maintaining accuracy and authenticity in reporting is crucial, especially when it concerns public figures and their professional endeavors.

The incident also sheds light on the potential repercussions of spreading false information within the entertainment industry. False claims regarding financial transactions and collaborations can tarnish artists' reputations and undermine trust between industry peers, highlighting the need for responsible journalism and fact-checking practices.

As Tekno continues to navigate his career in the music industry, his response serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency and integrity in all aspects of artistic collaboration and business dealings. While collaborations between artists often involve financial arrangements, ensuring clarity and mutual understanding is essential to fostering positive relationships and maintaining professional integrity.

Tekno's swift rebuttal of the alleged interview highlights the necessity of discerning credible sources and verifying information in the digital age. As the music industry evolves, artists must remain vigilant in safeguarding their reputations and addressing false narratives that may arise. Moving forward, open communication and transparency will continue to be paramount in fostering trust and collaboration within the music community.
